Staggering statistics that most parents wouldn't think would apply to their child's educational experience. However, bullies can be found at any stage in our lives, and seem to be most prevalent in a child's school age life. In order to possibly curb the bullying behaviors, a teacher can offer some advice and team building strategies that create a classroom environment of inclusion and respect. And, when students feel closer to one another, the level of bullying is said to decrease. A decrease that is a result of creating fewer bystanders, as students begin to step up and speak up for their fellow classmates. In the article on Group Effectiveness in the Classroom and Workplace, the authors make the comment, "Learning to work together requires all team members to recognize their own behaviors in relation to those of other team members and to respect the uniqueness each member brings to the team. “
As such, team-building amongst students, is one of the best ways to build collaborative, high performing teams that will also encourage faculty effectiveness and student moral. The benefits of team building programs that incorporate the differences in the four basic personalities: (the peace maker, analyzer, director and socializer) as well as team bonding and camaraderie activities are so significant that many schools have incorporated team building strategies into their standard training curriculum for __staff development__ ("Fulford, Gail") .
